Nasi Lemak

Tada~ my first time making Nasi Lemak for dinner.

forgotten where i got this recipe from, but the measurement is 2 cups of rice + 200ml coconut milk + 300ml water.

Emoji Chiffon 9"



Baked this 9" chiffon in a tube pan, needless to say. Tried to cover up the hole in the middle, however there is slight colour differentiation. Nevertheless, i tried my best, hope the birthday boy likes it. 

The mummy sent me a picture of her request above.
Using fondant seems very pretty, every part is so smooth. But honestly speaking, i'm not a fan of fondant. I rather have a chiffon designed cake as it is healthier.

Proceeded to do the planning on the parts to bake.

I don't deny baking chiffon is tough, and is really tough. Especially when you need to do such customised cake. It has to be naked looking (no browning) and planning (which part to bake + how much) in order to minimise wastage. Lastly is the cutting and assembly part.

3 Dishes and 1 Soup


Raddish, Carrot, Tomato Pork Rib Soup
1 average size radish
2 Carrots
1 Tomato
200g Pork Ribs

De-skin carrots and radish, cut into smaller pieces.
Cut tomato.
Add all ingredients into Soup Maker.
Top water until 1500ml marking.
Select function to "Stew".
Soup is ready in 40mins! 

Baked Breaded Prawn (bought from a shop that sells frozen food)

simply heat up and sprinkle some sesame seeds.

Steamed White Fish with Shitake Mushrooms with Teo Family sauce.
Sauce: 
Oyster Sauce
Sesame Oil
Hua Tiao Jiu
Water

Minion Chiffon Cake

Made a Minion Theme Birthday Party for my son. The cake took me 3 days to bake! I started with the lower tier, which is 23cm (9") it was really tough to do naked look - (no browning by the sides). Then followed by the upper tier, which is 7" (17~18cm). The final day was doing the chiffon sheet, cutting and assembling them together. Because this cake was too tall to be in normal cake box, i put it in a super tall box and cling wrapped up tightly. And because the box was too tall to fit into my fridge (with all the party stuff), the minion had a chance to sleep in my aircon room. LOL!

simple wang wang biscuit with minion eyes (bought a week in advance, stick the eyes and placed it in air tight container - in case the biscuit turn soft)

Yellow Vanilla Chiffon 7"

the night before i made a 9" yellow chiffon. The above was a 7" / 17cm Yellow Vanilla Chiffon.


Tried Jeannie's method to do double layer tube pan while baking. Because this tube pan always give me the browning effect. I guess it worked!

30mins and so on, due to steam baking, it took about 1hr 45mins..
