Char Kway Tiao


What makes fragrance Char Kway Tiao? Pork Lard and Lard Oil. Thanks hubby for making the pork lard from scratch. We know it's unhealthy, but don't eat it often it's fine. =)
Couldn't find fresh cockles as we are both working. heehee..

We will try it again with proper proportioning of kway tiao and yellow mee, this round with cockles. Maybe the cockles juice makes it tastier?

Black Sesame Paste


I'm getting the hang of using multiple "machines" to shorten meal times. hehe.. 

Below recipe from Song Cho Soup Maker

Ingredients:
Black Sesame 150g (stir-fry for 10 mins)
Glutinous Rice 100g (washed & drained)
Brown Rock Sugar 120g (adjust according to personal preference)
Water (to fill up till 1300ml mark)

Steps:
Pour all ingredients (except brown rock sugar) into the SOUP MAKER.
Add water up to 1300ml mark
Press MENU till PASTE function, press START (takes 25 minutes).
When the SOUP MAKER beeps, off power and open the lid. Add brown rock sugar to taste
Sieve the content and serve hot.

*May choose FRUIT/VEGETABLE JUICE function after PASTE function is completed for an even smoother consistency.

Rice Cooker - Claypot Chicken Rice



Claypot Chicken Rice
- wash 2 cups of rice
- using 2 cups of the marinated sauce (from the chicken wings) to cook the rice, if not enough, top up with chicken stock in fridge)
- wash shitake mushroom, keeping the cap, sliced it and mix well with the rice.
- start cooking the rice.

- air fry chicken wing 
- preheat oven 180 deg C, using bake function, bake taiwan sausage for 20 to 25mins

- blanched xiao bai chye (boil till soft with drops of oil)
- serve with oyster sauce and shallots. (heat up oyster sauce, add abit of water).
-pour over xiao bai chye and sprinkle some shallots.

One Pot Rice Cooker Chicken Rice


Bad display i know. Nevertheless, the taste is yumz!

Soup is boiled for 2hrs using chicken bone, cabbage and carrot with NO seasoning. =)
Jays walloped the above serving in 20mins. hehe

Sliced Fish Thick Bee Hoon Soup


Ingredients:
Sliced fish (i like batang)
thick noodle
bak choy
butter
garlic
ginger
chicken stock
fish sauce
shaoxing wine
evaporated milk

(sorry the above are based on estimation, i dun have exact measurement.)

Simple Fried Rice


Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup overnight cooked rice
1 carrot (diced)
6 mini taiwan sausage (diced)
4 eggs
Handful frozen shrimps (i like this because of the QQ texture)

Method:
fry egg and remove
boil carrot and shrimp
fry minced garlice
throw in taiwan sausage, rice fry them
throw in the rest of the ingredients
add rough gauge of dark soya sauce and oyster sauce
